A collaboration with the University Instituto
Europeo di Design and Design Studios in Milan, with a target
to explore new and deeper affections between human and personal
digital objects, has allowed us to conceptualise a new service
scenario.
This exciting research is likely to become a reality 2
years from now. One example of this is a digital city guide,
which we have named 'VIA', a concept that can be of great
benefit to travellers and business people alike. This consists
of a new, card sized cellular phone featuring a personal
hotline and city navigation, which can be rented at a reasonable
rate with an interface that is easy to use. The i-tag, a combination of mue-chip technology
and 'print -club' entertainment, enables you to store information
and display images in a stamp-size format, taken by the
i-tag instant camera. To transmit the i-tag content to your
PC, just place the i-tag on the i-tag Reader/Writer. Data is transmitted, through Blue Tooth opening
a web site that allows you to download onto your PC, data
and images related to your trip. Our target was to create an instant personal
digital object with new possibilities and values and a life
cycle of 2 weeks. The city guide hardware can be updated
regularly once it has been returned to the service provider. This allows an interface which is both digital
and tangible - a unique experience!
